Clyde Elmer Michael, 79, of Parsons, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He had been in failing health since 1993.

He was born August 11, 1933 at Liberal, Kansas to Charles Elmer "Sam" Michael and Lois Edna (Duncan) Michael.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 and was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. His primary duties were as an aircraft electrician on heavy bombers, B-36's and B52's. He also served as a special weapons technician. He worked as a TV and two-way radio technician following his discharge. He held a First Class Radiotelephone License issued by the Federal Communications Commission and built several radio stations and served as Chief Engineer in Kansas, Arizona and California. He was also a licensed amateur radio operator. He was employed by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway as a microwave and computer technician.

He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Parsons.

He married Mary E. (Vandyke) Gillespie on December 22, 1960 at Liberal, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 1978.
Clyde married Jaquetta Ann Good on September 28, 1991. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a niece, Laura Hall and husband, Mitchell of Hugoton, KS; one great-nephew, Matthew Hall and wife, Tina of Fredonia, KS; two great-nieces, Madison Hall and Isabella Hall of Hugoton, Kansas; three stepchildren, Donna, Robert and Rosemary; and several step-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great- great-grandchildren.

Clyde was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Daniel "Danny" Michael; two stepchildren, Roger and Richard; and three step-grandchildren, Tony, Charlie and Michael.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Parsons.
