Colt Alan Smith was born on November 4, 1971, to Gary Smith and Jolene (Westhoff) Smith in Midwest City, Oklahoma.  As a young boy, he moved to Miami, Oklahoma and then Parsons, where he attended St. Patrick Catholic School and graduated from Parsons High School in 1990.
