Connie D. Gilbert, 77, of Parsons, died at 11:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society.
She was born January 2, 1936, in Seneca, Missouri to Darwin and Nadene (Giett) Jones. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, James McDaniel, in Raymond, Kansas. In 1954, she graduated from Raymond High School and later attended the Salt City Business School in Hutchinson, Kansas. She later lived in Lyons, Palco, Plainville, Olathe, and Shawnee, Kansas. While Living in Shawnee, she worked at TG&Y, Terminix, Sprint Print and AWT. She moved to Parsons in March 2003.
Mrs. Gilbert had been a Cub Scout Leader for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing bingo. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and the Kansas City Chiefs.
She and Arden Gilbert were married on April 11, 1958, in Joplin, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1976.

Six great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a half brother, Henry Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, at Plainville Cemetery in Plainville, Kansas.
