Corrin L. Weil, 75, of rural Altamont, passed away at 7:24 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home.
He was born March 16, 1939 in Dewey County, Oklahoma to Henry Edward and Beulah Frances (Wells) Weil. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to Galesburg where they lived until moving to rural Edna when he was ten. Corrin lived in the rural Edna and Altamont areas his entire adult life. For many years, he worked as a self-employed livestock transport trucker.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edna. Corrin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed horses. He was a member of the Altamont Saddle Club, the Southeast Kansas Mounted Sheriff's Posse, and had served as a 4-H project leader. Through the years, he had also served on 4-H judging teams and the Kansas FFA State Dairy Judging Team.
He and Marion "Sue" Dixon were married on July 23, 1959 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Timothy W. Weil and his wife, Gaylene, Wann, OK, and Jeff Weil and his wife, Michelle, Wann, OK; one daughter, Sue Ann White and her husband, Ken, Independence, KS; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; four brothers, Harold Weil and his wife, Ruth, Butler, MO, Lynn Weil and his wife, Marilyn, Edna, KS, Roger Weil and his wife, Oleta, Edna, KS, and Robert "Bob" Weil and his wife, Martha, Oswego, KS; two sisters, Colleen Petrey and her husband, Bayne, Andalusia, AL, and Mary Humphries and her husband, Bob, Tallahassee, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Beth Ann Weil; and two infant sons.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2014 at Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
