Curt Ladage, 89, of Parsons, passed away at 1:51 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
He was born January 5, 1929 in rural Altamont, Kansas to Elra Ernest and Ruth (Matthews) Ladage. Curt grew up in Parsons where he graduated in 1947 from Parsons High School and later attended Labette Community College. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve from 1950-1959.
For several years, Curt worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. He then began his 22-year employment at Labette Community College in Parsons where he worked until retiring.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont. Curt was an avid golfer and a former champion of The Parsons Sun golf tournament. In the 1940's, he enjoyed playing American Legion baseball and in the 1960's won the City of Parsons doubles tennis tournament with Louis Roller, Jr.
He and Wanda Maxson were married May 19, 1979 at the Church of the Brethren in Parsons. She survives.

Eighteen Step-Great-Grandchildren
Two Sisters – Marge Hazen and her husband, Warren, of Parsons, KS
Judy Ewan and her husband, Jim, of Parsons, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Springhill Cemetery, rural Parsons, with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call at their convenience from 1-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Altamont or the LCC Foundation. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
