Daniel E. "Dan" Allen, 68, of Parsons, passed away at 2:05 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 5, 1950 in Chanute, Kansas to Ned H. and Mary Agnes (Pierce) Allen. Dan grew up in Chanute where he attended school and graduated from Chanute High School in 1968.
Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy for six years. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Chanute where he worked at UPS before moving to Parsons in 1977. After serving UPS for 30 years, he retired in 2006. He most recently was employed by Beachner Grain in Parsons. While living in Parsons, Dan attended Labette Community College where he earned an Associate's degree.
He was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons and a 4 th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, church activities, and sports.
He and Cheri Guffey were married June 9, 1973 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chanute. She survives of the home.

Tim Allen of Plano, TX
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Martin James Allen.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, immediately following the rosary, at the funeral home.
