Daniel G. “Dan” Bogner, 64, of rural Galesburg, passed away at 11:02 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Labette Health.
Daniel Gerard Bogner was born on October 11, 1961, to Leo and Mildred (Rausch) Bogner in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up in rural Galesburg, attending Galesburg Grade School and graduating from Erie High School in 1980. After high school, Dan earned a bachelor's degree in agronomy from Kansas State University.
Following college, Dan returned to the family farm in Galesburg, where he spent the rest of his life farming and raising Black Angus cattle.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons.
A devoted husband and father, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family. Attending his son, Mark’s, different sporting events throughout the years was a favorite pastime. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a fan of the Kansas State Wildcats and the Kansas City Chiefs.
On August 10, 1996, Dan and Teresa Diane Smith were united in marriage at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. She survives of the home.

One brother – Kevin Bogner and his wife, Janice, of Augusta, Kansas
One sister – Linda Haight and her husband, Phillip, of Louisburg, Kansas
His in-laws – Alan and Sheron Smith of Dexter, Kansas
Sister-in-law – Kristi Snipes and her husband, Justin, of Dewey, Oklahoma
Two nephews – Ryan Haight of Kansas City, Kansas; and Wyatt Snipes and his wife, Halle, of Dewey, Oklahoma
One niece – Jacquelyn Bogner of Kansas City, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Bogner.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic School to support the athletic programs. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
