Daniel S. Burris

Daniel S. Burris, 49, of rural Parsons, died at 9:14 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health.

He was born December 21, 1964 in Parsons, Kansas to Billy Joe and Joe Ann (Collins) Burris. He grew up in Parsons where he attended Lincoln Elementary School and was a 1983 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont.

Following high school, Daniel worked for John Berberick Construction and later at Columbian Tec Tank. He was currently employed as a project superintendent at General Service Corporation in Oswego where he had worked for 20 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, carpentry and construction projects.

He and Marilyn (Turley) Lunde were married July 21, 2001 in Parsons. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Joe Ann Burris, of Parsons; two stepdaughters, Shawna Frakes of Texas and April Hart of Nebraska; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Wayne Burris, of Parsons, KS; one sister, Janet Burris, of Parsons, KS; one niece, Alicia Burris; and two nephews, Seth Burris and Ethan Burris.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Burris in 1996.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
