Daniel L. Swafford

Daniel L "Dan" Swafford, 67 of Parsons, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:45 am, at his home.

He was born on January 25, 1954 to Tom and Edith Swafford in Parsons. He met and was married Brenda S. Buie in 1976 in Parsons at the Church of God, living in Parsons a majority of their marriage. They had and raised three children together. Dan and Brenda divorced in 2003.

He was a very hard worker. He and his brothers helped their father's tree trimming business for many of their younger years. Later on working for The Individual Mausoleum, in Parsons. Next, he worked for Columbia Tech Tank in Parsons, then finally transferring to PowerFlame Inc. Where he became a painter and lead man. Retiring after 20 years of service with the company.

He enjoyed playing pool, going to Mo-Kan with his son. He was an avid wood worker. Loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and watching westerns on tv.

Survivors include:

One son - Dan Swafford II and his wife, Jessica, of Parsons, Kansas

Two daughters - Kelley Hull and her husband, Branden, of Carthage, New York

Edie Day and her husband, Jordan, of Altamont, Kansas

One brother - Mark Swafford and his wife, Mia, of Parsons, Kansas

Nine grandchildren - Madisen Hull, Landan Swafford, Erica Hull, Kaylee Swafford, Kaytlenn Swafford, Jordan Hull, Brooklenn Swafford, Dathon Day, and Zadock Day

As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond "Ray" Swafford; his sister, Marsha Rodriguez; his brother-in-law, Eliseo "Lee" Rodriguez; his nephew, James Rodriguez; his great-niece, Laci Swigart; and his great-nephew, Donovahn Rasmussen.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Western Way Cowboy Church near Altamont. The service will be live-streamed on Facebook Live for those unable to attend the memorial service.  Services are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
