Danny J. Griggs, 65, of Parsons, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at his home.
He was born to James Albert Griggs and Nina Ruth (Murdock) Griggs on November 22, 1950 at Lawton, Oklahoma during the time his father was serving in the United States Army. As a young boy, he attended McKinley Elementary School in Parsons. For several years, he worked at Class LTD in Parsons.
He was born with a disability but had fought a courageous battle with colon cancer the hupast two years. Danny never complained about anything and was always genuinely concerned about others.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years. He loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to Billy Graham and other evangelists on television. He also enjoyed meeting new friends at Jaycee Camp in Augusta, Kansas until he was unable to attend. Danny loved everyone. He especially enjoyed riding his bicycle around the neighborhood and always had a smile for everyone he encountered. His hobby was collecting model cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Griggs, on July 10, 2008; a great-great-nephew, Blake Taylor Moore, in 2015; his grandparents, four aunts, and four uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday.
