Darin K. Surridge

Darin Kyle Surridge, 35, of Parsons, died Thursday morning, December 28, 2017 in a two-vehicle accident near Beaumont, Kansas.

He was born April 21, 1982 in Parsons, Kansas to Dick and Sandy (Pemberton) Surridge. Darin was raised in Parsons and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont in 2000. He then attended trucking school at Fort Scott Community College where he graduated number one in his class.

Following graduation, he worked for TMC Transportation and was currently working for LDF Sales and Distributing in Parsons. Darin had logged over 500,000 miles accident free.

In 2007, Darin and Candace Shields were married. They were parents of two children, Ryleigh and Reid. The couple later divorced. In 2009, he met Jessica Johnson. The couple were parents of one son, Heston. Darin and Jessica were best friends from the start of their relationship; he loved and adored her.

Darin's first love was his children. He enjoyed helping coach his daughter's softball teams and loved camping and hunting with his two sons. His children were his passion and his life.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Jo Pemberton; paternal grandfather, Fred Surridge; paternal grandmother, Rosemary Surridge; and an uncle, Mike Buffington.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
