Darlene L. Wass, 55, of rural Parsons, died at 9:02 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007, at her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born February 1, 1952, in Logan, Kansas, to Orville and Martha (Pehrson) Fox. She grew up in Hill City, Kansas, and was a graduate of Hill City High School in 1970. She worked as a waitress at Don Divine's Restaurant in Parsons and also assisted her husband at Tim's Shop as a bookkeeper.
She and Tim H. Wass were married January 5, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma. They have lived north of Parsons the past 35 years.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Red Hat Society.

Husband - Tim Wass, of the home, rural Parsons;
One Son - Tim Wass, Jr., Pittsburg, KS;
One Daughter – Delinda Jantz and her husband, Charles, Cherryvale, KS;
Five Grandchildren – D. J. Smith, Dayton Smith, Dillon Smith, Aleighsha Renfro, and Jack Renfro;
One Brother - Delano Fox, Norton, KS;
One Sister - Donna Huntington, Grove, OK;
Mother-in-law - Betty Wass, Dennis, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Harold Wass.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Harmony Grove Cemetery near Dennis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
