Darlene L. White

Darlene L. White, 82, of Claremore, Oklahoma, and formerly of Parsons, Kansas, passed away at 9:58 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born October 4, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to Harry Lester and Daisy Edna (Smith) Caldwell. As a young girl, Darlene grew up in the Dennis and Mound Valley area and later attended Mound Valley High School. Through the years she worked at Hallmark Cards, S.H. Kress Company, Smith's Liquor Store, and the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant.

She and Albert J. White were married August 18, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. While her husband was working for the railroad, they lived in Wellington, Kansas before returning to Parsons. They later divorced. She and Bill Shouse were married. They later divorced. Darlene had lived in Parsons until moving to Oklahoma one month ago to be near her daughter.

In earlier years, she attended the Dennis United Methodist Church and most recently had attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons.

Survivors include:

One Son – Albert M. "Mike" White                                       Parsons, KS

One Daughter – Diana Jester and her husband, Cary             Claremore, OK

Four Grandchildren – Yvonne Womeldorff, Yvette Webb and her husband, Ryan,

Wyatt Jester, and Ethan Jester

Three Great-Granddaughters – Mallory Womeldorff, Savanna and Quinn Webb

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Hines and Mary Ellen (Lolly) Rea.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
