Dave E. Myers, 70, of rural Mound Valley, died at 10:20 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2008, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born March 21, 1937, in Altamont, Kansas, to William "Will" and Naomi (Cortner) Myers. He grew up and attended schools in Altamont graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1955. In 1957, he purchased a farm west of Mound Valley where he began his lifelong vocation as a farmer and dairyman.
He and Janet Lewis were married August 9, 1957, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She survives.
He served ten years on the RWD #6 Water Board, the Mound Valley Coop Board for four years and the Wholesale Water Board for ten years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and collecting John Deere toy tractors.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Harmony Grove Cemetery, rural Dennis.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2008, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
