David R. George

David R. George, 70, of Parsons, passed away at 2:27 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home.

He was born May 24, 1948 in Oswego, Kansas to Ralph and Mona (Kelley) George. He grew up and attended school in the rural Oswego area and graduated in 1966 from Labette County Community High School in Altamont.

He served in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to rural Oswego where he farmed for several years. For a time, he worked at Columbian TecTank in Parsons and later at Power Flame in Parsons until retiring.

He enjoyed driving his tractor and cutting wood.

Survivors include one granddaughter, three brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Lee George.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Following the visitation, Mr. George will be cremated.
