David A. LaForge, 65, of Parsons, passed away the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his home.
David Alan LaForge was born on August 6, 1960, to Edward Bernard and Eugenia Bertha (VanLeeuwen) LaForge in Parsons, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1978.
Following high school, David began a 47-year career with Ruskins in Parsons. At the time of his retirement in 2026, he was a master scheduler and known for being a dedicated employee.
A devoted father and grandfather, he loved watching his sons and his grandchildren playing sports and participating in many other activities. David enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was attending every one of their events or just hanging out. He had a big heart and was willing to help others with projects or through life’s challenges. An outdoorsman at heart, David enjoyed fishing, riding 4-wheelers and pool days in the summer. His family and friends will miss his sense of humor and jokes.

Three sons – Ryan LaForge of Lawrence, Kansas
Jordan LaForge and his wife, Jessica, of Parsons, Kansas
Ethan LaForge and his wife, Danielle, of Wichita, Kansas
Six grandchildren – Kash, Watson, Saylah, Kirby, Jennings, and Crosby
Four brothers – Frank LaForge of Caney, Kansas
Ron LaForge of Parsons, Kansas
Gary LaForge of Parsons, Kansas
Donnie LaForge and his wife, Vicki, of Parsons, Kansas
Four sisters – Carol Hogelin and her husband, Bill, of Parsons, Kansas
Rita Drisdell and her husband, Doug, of Parsons, Kansas
Deanna Heady and her husband, Troy, of Parsons, Kansas
Mary Kay Dickens and her husband, Ron, of Parsons, Kansas
Numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward “Ed” LaForge.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to Parsons Babe Ruth Baseball. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
