David W. Madl, 53, of Mound Valley, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born September 15, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas to Ronald Louis and Phyllis Jean (Shepard) Madl. He grew up and attended school in Topeka until moving with his family to Altamont where he graduated from Labette County High School in 1981.
Through the years, David worked as a meat cutter at Greaves Nu-Way, Country Mart, and Save-A-Lot, all in Parsons, and Marvin's Food Saver in Independence.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #69 in Altamont. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He and Teresa Curnutte were married December 7, 1985. They later divorced.

Three Great-Nieces and One Great-Nephew
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald L. Madl, on December 14, 2012; a stillborn brother, Michael Louis Madl; and a brother-in-law, Andy Smith, in 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Friends may call at their convenience after 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
