David M. Workman, 56, of Parsons, died at 2:05 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society. He had been in failing health.
He was born December 16, 1955, in Parsons, Kansas, to James F. and Anne C. (Munding) Workman. He grew up and attended school in Parsons where he graduated from Parsons High School. He then attended Coffeyville Community College two years and earned a Bachelor's degree at Emporia State University.
After college, he worked as a medical technician at Regional Hospital in Emporia, before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he worked as a medical lab technician. He then lived in San Antonio for six years where he worked at Santa Rosa Hospital and later at Nemaha Community Hospital in Seneca, Kansas, seven years before returning to Parsons.
He was Catholic. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, landscaping and watching and raising homing pigeons. He was also an animal lover and had contributed to numerous causes for the well being of animals.
He and Grace Kinsch were married. They later divorced.

Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Workman and Robert "Mark" Workman; and one sister, Judith "Judy" Huff.
The memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial of the cremains will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
