Deanna L. Jones, 69, of Mound Valley, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Freeman West in Joplin.
Deanna Lynn Bradshaw was born on September 28, 1952, to Charles Willis and Virginia Jean (Rundle) Bradshaw in Wichita, Kansas. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the rural Parsons area, where she grew up and attended Meadow View Grade School. In 1970, she graduated from Labette County High School.
On October 3, 1970, Deanna and Alan A. Jones were united in marriage in Parsons. The couple settled in the Mound Valley area, where she had lived since. She devoted her life to being a supportive farm wife and loving mother. At times, Deanna also worked as a Mystery Shopper.
A dedicated Christian, she was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church. She was also a member of the National Farmers Organization. For several years, she was a volunteer at New Life Clothing. Her favorite job was being a full-time granny. Her grandchildren were her life.
Survivors include:
One son – Kevin Jones and his wife, Teresa, of Mound Valley, Kansas
One daughter – Cindy White and her husband, Matt, of Oswego, Kansas
Seven grandchildren – Dustin White, Ryan White, Mary-Lynn White, Shyanne Jones, Cloey Jones, Brody Jones, and Makayla Jones
Her mother – Virginia Bradshaw of Parsons, Kansas
One brother – Paul Bradshaw and his wife, Mary, of Oregon
Two sisters – Cathy Hudson and her husband, Gailen, of Springdale, Arkansas
Connie Nobles and her husband, Dan, of Independence, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Jones, on June 8, 2012; her father, Charles Bradshaw; and one brother, John Bradshaw.
There will be a private family graveside service at the Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2022, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
