Debra "Kay" Brown, 37, of Bartlett, died at 11:15 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home.

She was born December 6, 1975, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Cecil D. and Shirley (Brown) Kimrey. As a young girl, she grew up in Edna where she attended Edna Grade School and was a 1994 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont. She then attended Johnson County Community College one year, and had earned an Associate of Science degree at Ft. Scott Community College, an Associate of Science degree at NEO A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma; and a Bachelor of Science degree at Pittsburg State University.

Through the years, she worked at various Wal-Marts, and as a laboratory technician at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, and Cytocheck Laboratory and Labette Health, both in Parsons.

She was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Husband – David Brown of the home, Bartlett, KS
One Daughter – Sienna K. Brown of the home
Mother – Shirley Kimrey Edna, KS
One Brother – Darrell Kimrey Ochelata, OK
Two Sisters – Carla Collins Coffeyville, KS
Diana Blaylock Fairland, OK

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Kimrey, on April 28, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Bartlett Christian Church. Burial will be in the Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the church. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the Sienna Brown Educational Fund or the Midwest Crisis Pregnancy Center in Coffeyville. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
