Debra R. Crumrine

Debra R. "Debbie" Crumrine, 66, of Chetopa, passed away on July 7, 2021, at her home.

Debra Ruth Baunhofer was born on January 16, 1955 to Lee Henry and Marguarette Gertrude (Dixon) Baunhofer in Miami, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Chetopa, graduating from Chetopa High School in 1973.

She worked as an EMT for Labette County ambulance for a time. In 1990, she began working as an appraiser for the Labette County appraiser's office. She retired in 2012.

Her Christian faith was very important to her and she was an active member of the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. Debbie served on the Chetopa City Council for several years. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was one of her greatest enjoyments in life. She also enjoyed playing golf, fishing and playing guitar.

Debbie and Thomas Crumrine were united in marriage in 1976. The couple later divorced.

Survivors include:

One daughter – Trudi Vail and her husband, Randy, of Oswego, Kansas

Three grandchildren – Aaliyah Groover and her husband, Randy; Gavin Vail and Wyatt Vail

Three great-grandchildren – Melanie, Emilia, and Sparrow

One brother – David Payne and his wife, Alice, of Miami, Oklahoma

Two sisters – Mickey Bogle and her husband, Jim, of Chetopa

Wanda Barr of Baxter Springs, Kansas

Her special nephew – Roger Bogle and his wife, Krystal, of Chetopa, Kansas, and their daughters, Diamond Bogle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Prairie Bogle of Chetopa, Kansas and Oakley Bogle of Chetopa, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa from 1 – 4:00 p.m., Monday, to sign the register. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Community Bible Church.
