Dennis L. Lundgren, 64, of Parsons, died at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He was born on April 1, 1945, to Ralph and Velna (Picking) Lundgren in Long Beach, California. At the age of 8, Dennis received his first camera, a Brownie box camera, and has loved photography with a passion ever since. Dennis left school in the eighth grade to pursue a career in photography. He trained many people in the art of photography as well as teaching photography classes at junior colleges. Through the years, Dennis worked as a photographer at The Salina Journal in Salina, Kansas; The Garden City Telegram in Garden City, Kansas; and The Parsons Sun in Parsons, Kansas, for a total of 35 years. He later owned Kelly Lynn Photography, which he had to give up due to ill health. Even after all his health problems, Dennis loved taking pictures, especially of his grandchildren.
In the 1960's, he served his country in the National Guard and was recipient of an honorable discharge.
He and Donna (Sitton) Romero were married October 15, 1991, in Parsons. She survives of the home.

As an only child, he was very close to his two cousins, Seara Weir and Leslie Ringeringer; and his Aunt LaVone Sperling.
Dennis was a loving husband, caring father, and proud grandfather. He was always concerned about the safety of others, even when enjoying himself. He was passionate about everything he did and everyone he loved. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
