Diane S. Palmer

Diane S. Palmer, 74, of Parsons, passed away at 9:03 a.m., Sunday, September 20, 2026, at her daughter’s home.

Diane Sue Bush was born on January 8, 1952, to Thomas J. and Opalee (Mason) Bush in Parsons, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School.

For 18 years, Diane worked for Fred Ronald’s. She then worked for Signature Sportswear for 20 years until retiring.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Diane dedicated a lot of her time to watching and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the center of her life. One of her special talents was making delicious and memorable no-bake cookies. Her big heart extended to animals, as she was known to feed the stray neighborhood cats. She enjoyed sports from playing softball in her younger years to bowling in a bowling league. She was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan.

On August 15, 1970, she and Bobbie D. Palmer were united in marriage in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2025.

Survivors include:

One son – Robert D. Palmer and his wife, Gina, of Parsons, Kansas

One daughter – Jaime R. Pemberton and her husband, Ryan, of Parsons, Kansas

Three grandchildren – Brett Palmer; Kylea Palmer; Ali Ridgeway and her husband, Trent; and Kaitlyn Pemberton

Three great-grandchildren – Braxton, Gabriel, Layla, and one on the way (Tempest)

One brother – Steven Bush of Parsons, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobbie D. Palmer; one brother, Thomas “Jimmy” Bush; and one sister, Linda Beasley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. There will be a private family inurnment at the McCune Cemetery at a later date.
