Don Monroe Keaton, 84, of Parsons, passed away at 10:24 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 8, 1933 in Rolla, Missouri to Earl Monroe and Nola June (Lane) Keaton. As a young boy, he grew up in Licking, Missouri where he later graduated from Licking High School.

Through the years, Don worked as a truck driver, laborer, machinery operator, and job superintendent in various locations in Kansas and Missouri including Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, for Sinclair Oil in St. Louis, Missouri, and Missouri Petroleum. He also worked as a job superintendent for Beachner Construction Company, was owner and operator of Mickey's Express in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and hauled heavy equipment for Warren Transport in Water Loo, Iowa and Daily Express in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

He was a member of the Western Way Cowboy Church in rural Altamont. Don especially enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music.

He and Vergena Louise Ryno were married June 2, 1951 in Hardy, Arkansas. She preceded him in death January 30, 2013. On September 3, 2016, Don and Joann (Ferguson) Lattin were married in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Three Daughters – Donna Lampert of O'Fallon, MO

Dorothy Hudnut of Wentzville, MO

Genevieve Lattin of Wichita, KS

Fifteen Grandchildren

Thirty Great-Grandchildren

Eleven Great-Great-Grandchildren

One Sister – Geneva Bruns

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four-day-old infant son, Edward Dean Keaton.

Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
