Donald L Hudson

Surrounded by his loving family, Don Hudson, 66, of Parsons, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his home.

Donald Lloyd Hudson was born on February 19, 1954, to William Donald and Marilyn Christine (Hupp) Hudson in Topeka, Kansas. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in various cities where his dad was a salesman. He mostly lived in Oklahoma City until moving to Olathe, Kansas, where he graduated from Olathe High School. Although his family moved frequently, Don was able to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts and had a private pilot's license before getting his driver's license.

Following high school, Don attended Johnson County Community College, Kansas State University and earned a Registered Pharmacist degree at University of Kansas School of Medicine. In 1995, Don moved to Parsons and worked for Steve Defever in the pharmacy. He began working as the pharmacist at Auburn Pharmacy in what is now King Cash Saver in 2008.

Don recently joined St. Patrick Catholic Church. In previous years, he was a Girl Scout leader. He dearly loved his family, enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader.

On April 11, 1994, Don and Kathryn Sue Collins were united in marriage in Coffeyville, Kansas. She survives of the home.

One daughter – Allison Hudson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Two grandchildren – Brea and Jace Atkins

One brother – Neal Hudson of Birmingham, Alabama

The rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. The funeral Mass will immediately follow the rosary. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Fredonia Cemetery. Friends may call at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday. For all events, social distancing guidelines will be followed, including the requirement of face masks.
