Dora K. "Doddie" Edie, 70, of Oswego, passed at 9:15 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Dora Kay Kuffler was born on August 6, 1950, to Kenneth and Mildred (Holding) Kuffler in St. Paul, Kansas. At the age of five, she moved with her family to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she grew up and attended school.

On September 9, 1969, she and Terry Lee Edie were united in marriage in Council Bluffs. The couple moved and made their home in Parsons. From 1984 to 1993, Doddie worked as a CNA at Elm Haven East. She enjoyed being a homemaker most of her life. The couple moved to Oswego in 2009 and have lived there since.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was instrumental in helping raise her son's children after he passed away in 2008.

A favorite hobby of Doddie's was sewing and she had a zest for anything Harry Potter.

Survivors include:

Her husband – Terry L. Edie, of the home

One son – Terry Ray Edie, of Oswego, Kansas

Two daughters – Tammie Lyn Byers and her husband, Alvin, of Olathe, Kansas

Tabetha Edie and her companion, Rasheed Webb, of Parsons, Kansas

Nine grandchildren

Six great grandchildren and one on the way

One sister – Marcia Dyer of Council Bluffs, Iowa

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy Lee Edie, who passed away on April 4, 2008; and one brother, David Kuffler.

There will be a private family inurnment at Valley Cemetery in rural Parsons. Services are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
