Doris E. Streetmaker, 98, of Parsons, died at 3:10 a.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born October 5, 1914, in Parsons, Kansas, to Leslie A. and Ida K. (Brader) Streetmaker. She grew up in Parsons where she was a 1932 graduate of Parsons High School, earned an Associate degree from Parsons Junior College in 1934, and graduated from Parsons Business College in 1935.
She worked for the Parsons Retailers Association from 1937 until retiring in 1986 following 49 years of employment. She was a 90-year member of the First Christian Church in Parsons where she was baptized at the age of eight. Doris was an avid bridge player and had especially enjoyed going to Grand Lake to play bridge twice a year for over 25 years. She was also a 20-year member of the Labette Health Auxiliary where she had over 8000 hours of volunteer service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
