Doris M. "Dody" Tidwell, 68, of Tyro, Kansas, died at 5:05 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville. She had been in failing health.
She was born July 24, 1942 at Oswego, Kansas to Clifford "Cap" Lawson and Hallie M. (Carlton) Lawson. She grew up and attended school in the Altamont area and graduated from Labette County High School there. She worked for over 20 years as a ward clerk and pharmacy tech at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and Elvis memorabilia.
She was united in marriage to Alan Tidwell on May 1, 1981 at Miami, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m, Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Friends may call there after 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Altamont. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation and these may be left at the funeral home.
