Doris E. Webster, 83, of Erie, passed away at 6:37 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Guest Home Estates in Erie.
Doris Eileen Sandness was born on August 12, 1938, to Ralph Harold and Luella Deloris (Smith) Sandness in Walthill, Nebraska. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in several northern Midwest states. Before moving to Walnut, Kansas, in 1972, she had been living in Pleasant Plains, Illinois.
On February 14, 1958, Doris and Ted Noble were united in marriage. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage to Carroll Webster on April 14, 1982, in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Galena before moving to Stark where they owned and operated the Stark Café. In 1996, the couple retired and moved to Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and had a home on Grand Lake. Carroll passed away on August 17, 2005. In 2019, Doris moved to Erie to live with her daughter and in February 2021, she moved to Guest Home Estates.
Doris was a Methodist. Her family and making a home were the focus of her life. She loved to fish, garden, watching hummingbirds and eating sweets.
Survivors include:
One son – Steve Noble (Connie Allen) of McCune, Kansas
Two daughters – Mary Hartzell (John) of Erie, Kansas
Vicki King (John) of Walnut, Kansas
Eight grandchildren
Eighteen great-grandchildren
One brother – Wesley Sandness of Pittsburg, Kansas
One sister – Jan Poort of Topeka, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll Webster; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
