Dorothea M. Holm, 90, formerly of Mound Valley, died at 6:45 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Shirley Gideon, in Carterville, Missouri, where she had resided the past 4 ½ years. She had been in failing health.
She was born April 17, 1917, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Ezra and Susie (Ellis) Seybold. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in Pittsburg and was a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
She and Harold Emanuel Holm were married February 16, 1951, in Dearing, Kansas. He preceded her in death September 24, 2005.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Mound Valley.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Mound Valley Cemetery in Mound Valley, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
