Dorothy J. Breneman

Dorothy J. Breneman, 84, of Altamont, passed away the evening of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Pittsburg Health and Rehab in Pittsburg.

Dorothy Janet Hedrick was born on June 22, 1939, to Henry Glen and Julia Grace (Crown) Hedrick in rural Altamont, Kansas.  She grew up and attended school in Altamont, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1957.

Over the years, she worked at various places including the Townsman Motel, Dwayne's Photo, and Wal Mart.  Her most important and greatest job was making a loving and comfortable home for her family.

On April 24, 1959, Dorothy and Rolland Breneman were united in marriage.  The couple later divorced.

Gregory Breneman of Altoona, Kansas

Keith Breneman of Parsons, Kansas

Jerry Breneman of Altamont, Kansas

Matt Breneman of Claremore, Oklahoma

Six granddaughters

Five great-grandchildren

One brother – David Hedrick and his wife, Linda, of Altamont, Kansas

Two sisters – Betty Oler of Wichita, Kansas

Bethel Posey of El Dorado, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley Moore and Dolores Cornett; and one daughter-in-law, Andrea Breneman.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.  Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg.  The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m., Monday, until the service begins at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
