Dorothy A. "Dot" Brueggeman, 85, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe.
Dorothy Ann Brueggeman was born on January 16, 1936, to John Asher and Elsie Elizabeth (Ehlers) Brueggeman in Parsons. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1954.
She continued her education at University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor's and Master's in Education. For over 22 years, Dorothy taught at the Kansas State School for the Deaf.
In her early years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parsons. For many years, she was a member of Blue Valley Baptist Church in Olathe, Kansas. She enjoyed bible study and flower gardening.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John Brueggeman, Paul Brueggeman, George Brueggeman, and David Brueggeman; four sisters, Mildred Hazell, Frances Holder, Alice Loyd, and Gloria Holler.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. Services are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Blue Valley Baptist Church Ridgeview Campus in Olathe, Kansas.
