Dorothy D. Fowler

Dorothy D. Fowler, "Grandma Arky", 87, of Coffeyville, and formerly of the Mound Valley area,
died at 9:45 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She had been in failing health.

She was born April 9, 1919 in Mound Valley, Kansas to Ira and Lena (Kelley) Merrick. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Mound Valley.

She and Ernest Fowler were married in Cherryvale in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1970. She enjoyed working on the family farm, gardening, fishing and playing ball. She was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
