Dorothy I. Jungles, 93, of Parsons, formerly of rural Dennis, died at 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born February 2, 1919, in rural Parsons, Kansas to John and Edna (Bostlemann) Hellen. She grew up in rural Parsons and was a graduate of Parsons High School.
On September 8, 1938 she married John M. Jungles at the former St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parsons. Following marriage, they lived on the family farm near Dennis. Through the years, she worked in housekeeping at the Mercy Hospital and the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, formerly St. Mary's Catholic Church; its Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella. She also was very involved in the Dennis community, and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society's thrift store for many years.

One Son – John M. Jungles, Jr. and wife, Debbie Dennis, KS
One Daughter – Shirley McClelland and husband, Jack Hutchinson, KS
Seven Grandchildren
Eleven Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Jungles, Sr., on March 6, 2004; one daughter, Anna Mae Saye, on April 23, 2001; and one son, William "Bill" Jungles, on July 16, 2008.
The funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Friday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
