Dorothy J. Reel, 76, of Parsons, died at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at the Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born July 5, 1929 to Charles H. and Pearl M. (Madl) Lero in St. Paul, Kansas. She grew up and attended schools in St. Paul and was a graduate of St. Paul High School.
Following marriage, she lived in Neodesha where she worked as a waitress. She then lived in Independence for several years before moving to Parsons. It was at that time that her health began to fail. She enjoyed bowling and working crossword puzzles.
Her memberships included St. Andrews Catholic Church in Independence and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons.
She and Robert L. Reel were married in 1947. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1997.

Two Sons - Chuck Reel Arkansas City, KS
David Reel and his wife, Tammy Parsons
Four Grandchildren
Three Great Grandchildren
Three Brothers
Three Sisters
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sons, Michael, R. L. and Jim Reel.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2006 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2006 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
