Dowana D. Holsinger, 84, of Parsons, died at 4:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born December 1, 1923, in McCook, Nebraska, to John Rathiel and Mary Elizabeth (Laughlin) Ewing. At the age of eight, she moved to Gillette, Wyoming, where she grew up and attended schools.
She and Elmer J. Holsinger were married August 15, 1942, in Rantoul, Illinois. Following marriage, they lived in various cities while her husband served in the Army Air Force. In the late 1940's, they moved to Chanute and one year later moved to Parsons where they made their home and raised their family. She had lived in Parsons since that time.
She enjoyed gardening and reading. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and bells. She was a faithful and active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Holsinger, on May 27, 1996; three brothers, two sisters, one son, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2008, at the First Assembly of God Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
