Earl H. Gannaway, 65, of Galesburg, died at 5:24 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Labette Health. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born February 27, 1943, in Parsons, to Earl M. and Elizabeth (Villamaria) Gannaway.
He grew up in Parsons where he attended St. Patrick's Catholic Schools and graduated in 1961 from high school there. For a time, he attended IBM school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later served in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge from the army, he worked as a switchman, for the MKT and Union Pacific railroads, for 30 years until retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and gardening. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Parsons, and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He had also served on the Galesburg City Council.
He and Diane Anderson were married. They later divorced. He and Sherri Stiver were married March 11, 1964. They later divorced. He and Sandra McDonald were married December 4, 1990. She survives of the home.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2008, at St. Patrick's School Gymnasium in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., and the parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the St. Patrick's School Gymnasium. The family will receive friends immediately following the Rosary.
