Edith V. (Hurst) Stull, 89, of Altamont, died at 12:50 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons where she had resided since October 2003.
She was born June 4, 1918, in Kanopolis, Kansas, to Ira Vance and Rebecca (Hopkins) Hurst. She grew up and attended schools in Kanopolis, graduating from high school there in 1936.
Following high school graduation, she was employed by a doctor in Kanopolis before moving to Wichita to attend Wesley School of Nursing where she graduated in 1942. She worked for several years as a registered nurse at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita before retiring in 1973.
She and Richard H. Stull were married September 1, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas.
They lived in Newton, Kansas, where he worked for Amtrak, for a brief time, before moving to Altamont in 1989. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2007.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Altamont and the Kansas Longhaulers Campers Club in Wichita.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one son-in-law and one grandson.
Following cremation, a memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Altamont United Methodist Church in Altamont, Kansas.
