Edith L. (Riley) Rosenstiel

November 3, 1938 — March 10, 2011

Edith L. (Riley) Rosenstiel, 72, of Parsons, died at 2:34 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at her home. She had been in failing health.

She was born November 3, 1938, on the "Big Island" in rural St. Paul, Kansas to Pearl and Goldie Hazel (Beery) Riley. She grew up and attended elementary school near St. Paul and later attended McCune High School. For a time, she was employed at Fred Ronald Manufacturing in Parsons.

She and Dennis M. Rosenstiel were married August 6, 1977, in Wichita. Following marriage, the couple lived in Wichita until returning to Parsons in 1991 where they have lived since.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Parsons. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, NASCAR, reading and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Stuart Sanders and wife, Kim Martinez, CA
One Daughter – Jennifer Sheldon Port Angeles, WA
Six Grandchildren
One Great-Grandson
Two Brothers – Loren Riley Erie, KS
Ronald Lockwood Tyler, TX

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and one son, Riley Rosenstiel, on February 1, 2004.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
