Edith "Sis" Vaughn, 94, of rural Edna, died at her home late Sunday evening. She had been in failing health.
She was born April 19, 1914, near Edna, Kansas, to Charles H. and Ida Belle (Acridge) Rexwinkle. She grew up south of Edna, Kansas, and attended the Plainview School in Oklahoma.
She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She also loved being with her grandchildren and was "grandma" to everyone who knew and loved her. She will be sadly missed by all.
In the past she had been a member of the Baptist Church at Edna. She was also formerly a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Three Daughters: Betty Johnston and her husband, Jimmy, of Edna; Jessie Foister and her husband, Howard, of Edna; Karen Adolph and her husband, Fred, of Edna; Fourteen Grandchildren; Numerous Great-grandchildren; Four Brothers: Leonard Rexwinkle of Edna, KS; Virgil Rexwinkle of South Coffeyville, OK; Bill Rexwinkle of Bartlett, KS; Ralph Rexwinkle of South Edna, OK; Three Sisters: Lucille Bryson of Edna, KS; Darlene Clithero of Coffeyville, KS; and Ann Gerdes of Edna, KS.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Cecil Kimrey; two brothers and four sisters.
A graveside committal service will be held Tuesday morning at the Elm Grove Cemetery at Edna immediately following the funeral service of her son, Charles Kimrey, who died Friday. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home at Altamont from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday. The casket will remain closed.
