Edward Ammann, 74, longtime rural Parsons resident, passed away after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's Disease at 6:50 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Advena Living of Cherryvale, Kansas
He was born February 21, 1947 to Vernon and Odellia (Linnebur) Ammann in Parsons, Kansas. Edward graduated Erie High School then attended one year at the Parsons Junior College. He entered the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in 1968 where he made E4 in 1968. After returning home he had his pride and joy, muscle car and worked for the Bush Hog company in Galesburg, Kansas.
In 1972, he began working in the family dairy and enjoyed feeding all the dairy calves. In his spare time, he did mechanic work for friends and neighbors. He always loved working with his hands and was a real Jack of all trades. He had always enjoyed the outdoors and was a very loving and kind man.
Family was very important to Edward and will missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include, brothers, Alvin Linnebur, Larry Amman, Paul Amman (Sherry) and Albert Amman (Donna) of Parsons and a sister, Linda Kingcade of Westville, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Galesburg, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
