Edward Bamberry, 93, died at 8:50 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006 at his home in Altamont. He had been in failing health.
He was born September 4, 1913 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Edward Bamberry, Sr. and Sarah Jane (Joseph) Bamberry. He moved with his family, at the age of three, to southwest Missouri. At the age of 8, they moved to Labette County where he lived on the same farm from 1922 to 1984 at which time they moved to town.
He and Margaret V. Vail were married February 14, 1939 in Parsons. She survives of the home. He enjoyed farming and working with livestock. For several years, he drove the senior citizen bus in Altamont. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont, had served on the Labette County Extension Board for several years and had also served as a school board member of Lee District No. 66.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Elizabeth Good, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Altamont. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
