Edward J. "Ed" Laforge

Edward J. "Ed" LaForge, 57, of Wichita, formerly of Parsons, died at 1:08 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born October 13, 1952, in Parsons, Kansas, to Edward "Bernard" and Eugenia B. "Jeanie" (VanLeeuwen) LaForge. He grew up in Parsons and attended schools in St. Paul and Parsons. Following graduation from high school, he worked for the M-K-T Railroad. In 1974, he moved to Wichita where he worked as an aircraft cabinet builder.

Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting firewood and playing Frisbee golf.

He married Marcia "Sue" Moody and they later divorced.

He was preceded in death by his son, Justin "Brant" LaForge, June 10, 1991; his parents, Bernard LaForge, September 8, 1989, and Jeanie LaForge, September 28, 2009; and a niece, Haven LaForge.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
