Edward E. Kuffler, 93, of Parsons, formerly of Edna, passed away the morning of Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

Edward Eugene Kuffler was born on April 20, 1931, to Thomas Andrew and Esther May (Bisnett) Kuffler in rural Labette County.  While Edward was attending Parsons High School, the United States was involved in the Korean War.  At the end of football season during his senior year, Edward left school and joined the United States Air Force to serve his country.  From 1949 to 1969, Edward proudly served in the U.S. Air Force retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.  He then continued his education and earned his bachelor's, master's and education specialist degrees from Pittsburg State University.

For over 20 years, Edward was a teacher for USD 506 at Bartlett Grade School.  He loved taking care of his students, and he would reward the students who had a good week with a small can of pop to enjoy over the weekend.  From an early age, Edward's life decisions demonstrated his commitment to his country and to education.

Currently, Edward was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons.  While living in Edna, he was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.  Prior to joining the Catholic Church, Edward had been very involved in and was a leader in the Masonic Lodge.  He had also been a member of the Royal Neighbors extension unit.

A talented athlete, Edward excelled in bowling and golf.  He bowled a legally certified 300 game.  An avid golfer, he was a member of the PGA senior golf tour, which gave him the opportunity to play at Myrtle Beach.  In his lifetime, he had three holes in one.  He also loved hunting and fishing.  Edward was a gentleman who led an interesting life guided by virtue, faith and commitment.

On May 1, 2003, Edward and Bernadine Louise Hart were united in marriage.  She survives of the home.
