Elaine Louise Washington, 67, of Chetopa, died at 2:48 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 28, 1947 in Chetopa, Kansas to Wilcher Mont and Mary Louise (Armstrong) Caldwell. As a young girl, she grew up in Chetopa where she attended schools.
She and Larry Smith were married. They later divorced. She and George Washington were married. They later divorced.
In earlier years, she had worked at B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Oklahoma and most recently at Ducommun Aero Structures in Parsons. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chetopa. She enjoyed going to the casino and working on her computer.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Jones, of Chetopa, KS and Catrece Murray, of Topeka, KS; six grandchildren, Benjamin Essex, Natasha Chase, Wilcher Howell, Markus Murray, Adrian Murray and Unique Murray; three great-grandchildren, Aryona Zimmerman, Tagin Zimmerman and Tilynne Howell; one sister, Julia Ann Woodson, of Chetopa, KS; and one nephew, Bobby Scott, of Chetopa, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three cousins, Larry, Morris and Fredrick Rickey; and a nephew, Randell Woodson.
Following cremation, graveside committal services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa.
