Elizabeth R. Crum-Hills

April 4, 1963 — September 28, 2021

Gardner

Elizabeth R. "Liz" Crum-Hills, 58, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas.

She was born on April 4, 1963, to George Eldon and Donna Mae (Coberly) Shope in Wichita, Kansas.  Growing up in Wichita, she attended Rae Woodman Elementary, Truesdell Middle School and Wichita South High School, graduating in 1981.  During her younger years, Liz was active in Girl Scouts and played the violin.  Her sister, Cathy, was one of her closest friends and the girls enjoyed pretending to be models.  Her mother, Donna, introduced her to Elvis' music, a lifelong enjoyment.  In high school, Liz participated in track and field, earning so many medals on her letterman's jacket, that they clanged when she walked down the hall.  She loved her Firebird and dragging Douglas.

A natural leader, Liz owned and operated Release of Information Services in Wichita for over 20 years.  Even in business, family was important to Liz, working with her father, George, daily for the last 10 years of the business.  She loved her business and her employees and took caring for them to heart.  In 2004, Liz started a second business, Haley's Place, a children's clothing resell store, inspired by and named for her daughter.

Her fantastic smile and electric personality made everyone she encountered feel special.  Liz had a true love for life and those around her.

Liz and Richard Crum were united in marriage and had two glorious boys, Colby and Carrington.  Most friends heard many stories of her love for them and how proud she was of the young men they have become.  Later, Liz married Mike Hills and the couple had the precious little girl that she always wanted.   Halston Michele and Liz spent many hours dressing up, painting nails and doing hair.  They were two stylish girls, who sometimes overtook Dad's closet space with their clothes and accessories.

Survivors include:

Her husband - Michael, of the home

Two sons - Colby Crum of Wichita, Kansas

One daughter - Halston Michele Hills, of the home

One brother - Alan Shope, of Kansas City, Missouri
