Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Westhoff, 80, of St. Paul, passed away at 9:22 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and caregivers.
She was born January 11, 1938 in Parsons, Kansas to Joseph "Joe" and Ethel B. (Cooney) VanLeeuwen. She grew up on the family farm north of St. Paul. Betty attended St. Paul schools and graduated from St. Paul High School.
Prior to marriage, Betty worked at the creamery in Erie. On April 20, 1963, she and Charles "Chuck" Westhoff were married at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. After marriage, the couple moved to a farm south of town where they made their home and raised their family.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and its Altar Society. Betty also served as secretary for the American Kennel Club for several years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, painting, and sewing.

Brenda Issa and her husband, Mike, of Wichita, KS
Julie O'Hara and her husband, Matt, of St. Paul, KS

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lyle VanLeeuwen and Larry VanLeeuwen; and one sister, Ellen "Sis" Bradshaw.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Monday, at the church. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary at the church.
