Ella Mae Barrett, 91, of Parsons, died at 4:16 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society in Parsons.

She was born April 1, 1918, in Oakland, Kansas, to Fred E. and Bertha Belle (Markley) Hopkins. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School in Topeka.

On March 19, 1938, she and Benjamin F. Barrett were married in Topeka. Following marriage, the couple made their home in Florence, Kansas, where she was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include:
Two Sons – Benjamin F. Barrett Aurora, CO
Tom D. Barrett & wife, Vickie Parsons, KS
Four Grandchildren
Ten Great-Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Barrett on July 26, 2000; one brother and one sister.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2010, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence, Kansas. Friends may call at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons after noon on Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Florence, Kansas. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
