Ella Mae Vaughn, 93, of Parsons, passed away at 7:20 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society.

She was born September 29, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas to Russell Otto and Daisy E. (Rhode) Gaignat. She grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Kansas.

Following marriage to James Criss Vaughn, the couple moved to Ft. Scott for a time until making their home in Parsons in the 1960s. While living in Parsons, Ella worked as a laborer at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and later as a receptionist at the Townsman Motel. Following her retirement, they moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They enjoyed traveling to many places and countries. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, swimming, boating, and camping.

Survivors include:

Seven Grandchildren – Kim Haviland of Parsons, KS, Janet Brewer of Parsons, KS, Darin Vaughn of Cherryvale, KS, Bryan Vaughn of Salina, KS, Christopher Vaughn of Lawndale, CA, Jason Vaughn of Irvine, CA, and Shannan Peterson of Austin, TX; Twelve Great-Grandchildren – Kayla Minor, Cody Nading, Benjamin Brewer, Jessica Brewer, Samuel Brewer, Evan Vaughn, Austin Vaughn, Willa Peterson, Kolby Vaughn, Maddison Vaughn, Morgan Vaughn, and Micah Vaughn; Six Great-Great-Grandchildren – Darrell Minor, Connor Minor, Marshall Minor, Audie Minor, Kade Nading, and Memphis Nading; and dear family friend, Marcia McCombs.

She was preceded in death by James Criss Vaughn, and two sons, James Arlin Vaughn and Richard Dale Vaughn.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be at a later date at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
