Elmer L. Cranor, 94, of Chetopa, Kansas, passed away at 1:09 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
On August 13, 1925, Elmer Lowell Cranor was born to Lewis and Thelma (Tevebaugh) Cranor in Centralia, Oklahoma. As a young boy, Elmer grew up and attended school in the Centralia area.
Elmer joined and proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he moved to the Edna, Kansas area where he farmed and raised livestock. Following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling. Elmer was a member of the Baptist church.
He and Evelyn L. Kline were united in marriage on January 11, 1946, in Salisbury, Maryland. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2011.

One Son – Steve Cranor and his wife, Diane, of Chetopa, Kansas
Three Daughters – Jeanie Pemberton and her husband, Danny, of Parsons, Kansas
Connie Abell and her husband, Robert, of San Antonio, Texas
Kay George and her husband, Eddie, of Kansas City, Missouri
Nine Grandchildren
Fourteen Great-Grandchildren
Two Brothers – Vernon Cranor of Cortez, Colorado
Robert Cranor of Grove, Oklahoma
One Sister – Betty Alloway of Altamont, Kansas
His Special Friend – Fran Norton
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa, Kansas. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett, Kansas. The family will receive friends 7 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
